The Old School Yard presents
LA ESCUELITA
Saturday 15 August · Doors 5:30pm, last dance 12:30am
111 Long Lane, London SE1 4PH · 8 minutes from London Bridge
Our first Latin night, and we are going big
This is the first one of these we have ever thrown, so we are throwing everything at it. Doors swing open at 5:30 with the sun still on the terrace, the sangria starts pouring, and the floor fills the second the first Ricky Martin track lands.
Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, Enrique Iglesias, Marc Anthony, Luis Fonsi. Every song you already know every word to, then salsa, reggaeton, soca and dancehall to carry it through to half twelve. Whether you can properly dance or you are going to give it a go after two margaritas, this is the one.
Sun is out from 5:30
Half five on an August Saturday. Terrace open, cold drinks, and the whole evening still ahead of you. Get there early and make a day of it.
The soundtrack
Latin pop anthems, salsa, reggaeton, soca and Caribbean floor-fillers. The hits first, the deep cuts later, and nothing that clears the floor.
Drinks and food
Sangria by the glass or the jug and margaritas all night, bought at the bar. The BBQ is Chefologist, and you can pre-order your food when you book your ticket.
The BBQ is Chefologist, and you can add food to your ticket
Saturday is their first ever pop-up. Charcoal jerk pan going over the drum, fryer crackling, and a chef-led menu leaving the private dining room for the first time. They are serving in the yard from 5:30pm until 9pm.
Pre-order when you book. Once you have picked your tickets below, the booking form asks if you want food and takes it in the same payment. Yours is then ready when you are.
Food is charged separately from entry. You can still buy on the night, but pre-orders get served first.
Tickets
Both tickets include entry and a drink, redeemed at the bar on the night. Over 18s only, ID required on arrival.
